Flood Prevention in Swindon & across our area
Drainage, levels and barriers to keep water away from property.
We assess where water comes from and put in the works to manage it — land drainage, swales, soakaways, re-graded levels, channels and flood barriers — to protect homes, yards and access.
Every site is different; we design the fix around your ground and the source of the water rather than a one-size approach.
We start by working out where the water is actually coming from - overland flow, a blocked or undersized drain, or ground saturation - because the right fix depends entirely on the cause, not just the symptom at your door. From there we combine whichever of drainage, re-graded levels, soakaways or barriers actually addresses that source, rather than reaching for one standard solution. Where the cause isn't obvious, we're happy to visit after heavy rain if that helps us see exactly where water is coming from and how it's moving across the site.

Flood Prevention — your questions
Can you stop water running towards my house?
Often yes — by intercepting it with drainage and re-grading levels so it's directed safely away. We survey to find the source first.
Is this a guaranteed fix?
No honest groundworker guarantees against every flood, but well-designed drainage and levels dramatically reduce the risk — we'll be straight with you about what's achievable.
Can you help after we've already had water come into the house?
Yes - alongside any remedial building work you may need, we can survey the site to identify and fix the source so it's far less likely to happen again.
Do you work with insurance assessors on flood remediation?
We're happy to liaise with loss adjusters or assessors and provide quotes and reports to support a claim where that's useful.
How much does flood prevention work cost?
It depends entirely on the cause and the scale of the fix - a soakaway or re-graded level costs far less than a full drainage redesign. We survey first so any quote reflects what will actually solve your problem.
