Surfacing in Swindon & across our area
Tarmac and surfacing for drives, car parks, roads and yards.
We surface driveways, car parks, private roads, yards and paths in tarmac and macadam over a properly prepared, compacted base, with edgings and drainage as needed.
The finish is only as good as the foundation beneath it — and that base is our core trade.
The base beneath tarmac does most of the work - we compact it in layers to the right depth for the traffic it'll carry, whether that's a car on a driveway or HGVs on a commercial yard, then lay and roll the tarmac while it's at the right temperature for a dense, durable finish. Edges are restrained properly so the surface doesn't creep or break away over time. If you're planning tarmac alongside kerbing, drainage or a new base, we can price and sequence the whole job together rather than as separate pieces of work, which usually works out more cost-effective than bringing in separate contractors.

Surfacing — your questions
Do you resurface as well as lay new?
Yes — we can overlay sound bases or dig out and rebuild failed ones before surfacing.
How long before I can drive on new tarmac?
It's usable quickly but we'll advise a short curing window and avoiding turning wheels on the spot early on.
Can you resurface over my existing tarmac?
Where the base underneath is still sound, yes - an overlay can be a cost-effective refresh. Where the base has failed, we'd recommend digging out and rebuilding properly rather than laying over a problem.
How soon can I park on new tarmac?
Light use is usually fine within a day or so, but we'd advise avoiding turning the steering wheel on the spot (which can scuff the surface) for the first couple of weeks while it fully cures.
How much does tarmac surfacing cost?
Cost depends on the area, the depth of base needed and whether it's a resurface or a full new build-up. We'll survey the site and give you a per-square-metre or fixed quote.
