Kerb Laying in Swindon & across our area
Road kerbs, dropped crossings and channels laid to highway standards.
Our teams lay kerbs and channels to highways specification for estates, access roads, car parks and dropped crossings, set on the correct concrete bed and haunch with accurate line and level.
We handle radius kerbs, transitions and drop-kerb vehicle crossings, working to adoptable standards where the road is to be handed over.
Kerbs take a lot of edge load from vehicles mounting them, so the concrete bed and haunch behind each unit matter as much as getting the line right. We work to the levels on your drawings or the highway authority's specification, checking radius sections and transitions carefully so the finished run reads as one continuous, even line rather than a series of joints. For estate or commercial work we're happy to discuss adoptable specifications and phasing directly with your site manager or the highway authority ahead of starting.

Kerb Laying — your questions
Can you install a dropped kerb for my drive?
Yes. A vehicle crossing over the footpath usually needs highway authority approval — we can lay it to the required spec once that's in place.
Do you do adoptable kerbing?
Yes — where a road is to be adopted we lay to the authority's specification ready for inspection.
Can you lay kerbs around a tight radius or corner?
Yes - radius kerb units or carefully cut standard units let us follow tight corners and curves cleanly, which is common on estate roads and driveway entrances.
Do you need to close the road to lay kerbs?
On a quiet estate road or driveway, usually not - we work around traffic safely. On a busier road a short closure or traffic management may be needed, which we can help arrange.
How much does kerb laying cost?
It's priced per metre run and depends on the kerb type, whether it's a straight run or includes radius sections and dropped crossings. Get in touch with your drawings or a rough length and we'll give you an estimate.
