Accurate depth, warning tape and proper backfill mean the utilities below stay protected and locatable.
We dig to the depth and width the utility company or your drawings specify, bed the pipe or duct in the correct material - not just the arisings from the trench - and lay warning tape at the right depth so future digging stays safe. Reinstatement is compacted in layers too, which is what stops a trench line reappearing as a dip a few months later. We regularly coordinate trenching with utility companies' own timescales, so if you're waiting on a connection date we can plan our dig to fit around it, keeping disruption to your driveway, lawn or access route to a minimum. We can also lay multiple services in one trench where routes allow, saving you time and cost.

Can you lay ducting for a new supply?
Yes — we dig and lay ducting to the utility's depth and spec ready for their connection.
Do you reinstate driveways and lawns after?
Yes, we backfill, compact and reinstate the surface to match as closely as possible.
Can you dig a trench under an existing driveway or path?
Yes - we can either open-cut and reinstate the surface to match, or in some cases use directional techniques to avoid disturbing it, depending on the run and ground conditions.
Do you supply the ducting or pipe, or does the utility company?
It varies by utility - some supply their own ducting for us to lay, others we source to their spec. We'll confirm exactly what's needed once we know which service is going in.
How much does trenching cost?
